About Lights Out
⚠️ Long list of trigger warnings! Please proceed with caution!
Aly’s life has become an endless cycle – work, gym, home, rinse and repeat. Even her no-strings-attached hookups have grown monotonous, leaving her unsatisfied. Perhaps that’s because no one can compare to the dark, thrilling fantasies ignited by her mysterious Instagram crush, “The Faceless Man.”
This masked, knife-wielding figure is a true thirst trap, and Aly finds herself unable to resist stalking his profile. One drunken night, she even sends a text to a casual hookup, hinting at her attraction to someone like the Masked Man. To Aly’s surprise, her Insta crush slides into her DMs, suggesting they bring those internet fantasies to life.
What follows is a delightful romp of banter, light stalking, and delightful accidents. Buckle up, because this laugh-out-loud dark fantasy is about to take an unpredictable and thrilling turn.
Navessa Allen’s ‘Lights Out’ masterfully blends humor, sizzling chemistry, and a touch of the unexpected. Readers will be captivated by the growing rapport between Aly and her elusive crush, as well as the increasingly chaotic – yet thoroughly entertaining – events that unfold.

The blaring of an alarm jarred me out of sleep. I shot up in bed, and for a second, I couldn’t see anything. Fear punched through me. Had the contacts rolled into the back of my eyes while I slept and severed my optic nerves? Was that even possible? Aly groaned somewhere nearby. “What is that sound?” “I don’t know. I’ve gone blind,” I said, voice laced with panic. F—-, that was the second time I’d forgotten to disguise it. “What?” she yelped, and the mattress shifted with her movement. “Help me,” I whimpered, Batman-style, and yes, it was just as pathetic as it sounds. “Oh my god,” she said with a shaky laugh. “You’re not blind. Your dumb baklava slid sideways.” “It’s called a balaclava,” I told her. “And what did I say?” she asked. “Baklava. One is a mask. The other a delicious dessert.

My Review
🎧 I listened to the audiobook and had a blast!
🤣 There were so many moments that had me laughing out loud.
🌶️ There were quite a few scenes I had to turn down the volume in carpool because I didn’t want the teachers to hear what I was listening to!
🏆 Josh has cemented himself as one of my all time favorite dark romance MMCs!
😕 I didn’t connect to Aly, but maybe I was just jealous because I loved Josh so much!
