About Quicksilver

Prepare for the adventure of a lifetime with Callie Hart’s Quicksilver.

Saeris Fane spends most of her time just trying to survive, which is not always easy while living under the twin suns of Balea and Min in the Zilvaren sky. Her people are suffering under the cruel reign of Queen Madra, who forces the poorest sectors to survive on minuscule water rations and doles out severe punishments for even the smallest infractions.

Saeris has managed to remain unnoticed until she makes a rash decision to steal something valuable from the queen. Her actions trigger a series of events that will alter the fates of worlds. Unintentionally, she opens a portal to another realm and unleashes Death himself. Death—who refers to himself as Kingfisher—abducts her in an attempt to save the lives of his friends and family.

Saeris finds herself in the midst of an unending war, and Kingfisher believes she is the key to ending it. Will Saeris have to sacrifice everything, including her heart, to stop this conflict, or is all hope already lost?

      • Saeris Fane grapples with the challenges of life in the unforgiving desert city of Zilvaren, where every day is a fight for survival alongside her brother, Hayden. His talent for attracting trouble frequently complicates their already precarious existence. Amidst the swirling sands and relentless obstacles, Elroy, the glassmaker, watches over them, determined to honor the memory of Saeris’s late mother. Despite Elroy’s attempts to guide her away from danger, Saeris finds herself ensnared in a predicament from which there seems to be no escape.

      • For 110 years, Kingfisher has lived in exile, haunted by the weight of his past—until he hears the beckoning call of his father’s sword, which opens a portal to a new world. What he discovers on the other side stretches the limits of belief. He has finally found the key to ending the ongoing war between the Fae and the Vampires, a bitter conflict that has raged for generations. Now, he finds himself reunited with Everlayne, his half-sister, and Renfis, his trusted general, bearing a gravely injured human in desperate need of help.

Final Thoughts

Quicksilver is an absolute delight to read! From the very first page, I found myself completely absorbed in the adventures of Saeris and Kingfisher. Their dynamic and evolving relationship kept me on the edge of my seat, so much so that there were moments when I completely lost track of time and forgot I was even reading. The vivid world-building and engaging plot twists made it easy to get lost in their journey, eagerly anticipating what would happen next. It’s the kind of story that pulls you in and doesn’t let go until the very last page!
